
Adams, Erkins-Ford named Orlando Health Players of Week
A pair of Eastern Florida State College basketball players had career-bests this week and are the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 5.
Sophomores E'Zaria Adams and Emondrek Erkins-Ford both had big games on Saturday for their respective teams in conference games.
Adams scored a career-high 26 points in an overtime loss to Florida Southwestern Saturday and scored 21 points on Dec. 29 to kick off her week. She averaged 15.5 points per game over the four games this week. The guard from West Palm Beach has now scored 20-plus points three times this season, twice coming this week. She is averaging 11.7 points.
Erkins-Ford also posted a career high, scoring 28 points in the Titans win over Florida Southwestern to kick off the Citrus Conference season. He had 17 points against Keep Striving Prep as the forward averaged 22.5 points per game this week. It was his second 20-plus point game of the season and has scored at least 12 points in each of the team's 13 games this season. The Chicago, Illinois native is averaging 16.1 points per game.
The basketball teams will host St. Petersburg College on Wednesday night in Citrus Conference games. The women's game will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game to follow around 7:30 p.m. They will also be home on Saturday against Santa Fe College with the doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Admission to games at Titan Field House is free and you can watch games live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
