Women's tennis team defeats Franklin Pierce

Women's tennis team defeats Franklin Pierce

The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team continue its strong play, defeating Franklin Pierce University Saturday.

The Titans, who have won four straight, picked up the 6-1 victory at Titan Tennis Center.

Eastern Florida State College picked up a point in doubles as the No. 1 doubles team of Maria Gento and Elena Martinez Prado won 6-4 as did the duo of Leticia Orlandov and Sara Valentina Ladino at No. 3 doubles.

Up 1-0, the Titans clinched the match as Martinez, Orlandov, and Dasha Moskalenko picked up straight sets win and Gento clinched the win, splitting the first two sets and then winning the third 6-0. Ladino also won her singles match in three sets.

The women's tennis team will be home again on Friday for a region match against St. Petersburg College at 3 p.m.
