The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team defeated USC Sumter Saturday morning at Titan Tennis Center.

It was the first victory of the season for the Titans, who won 9-0.

Laura Yans and Elena Martinez Prado picked up the No. 1 doubles victory 8-2 while the duo of Thais Mitlmeier and Maria Gento won at No. 2 doubles 8-3. The No. 3 doubles team of Leticia Orlandov and Nayara Alvarez Martin won 8-0 to give the Titans a 3-0 lead.

All six singles matches were won in straight sets.

Martinez played at No. 1 singles and won 6-0, 6-1 while Gento also won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Orlandov, Alvarez, Dasha Moskalenko and Mitlmaier all won as well.

The women's tennis team will be right back on the court Sunday morning against Howard University Sunday at Titan Tennis Center. The match will begin at 10:30 a.m.
