
Women's golf team ties for second at Seminole State event
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished tied for second at the Seminole State Fall Warm-Up on Sunday.
The Titans had the best round of the day, shooting a 309 in the final round to finish tied for second overall with a 622. The 622 tied host Seminole State College and was behind only event champion Palm Beach Atlantic, who shot a 605 at Mayfair Country Club in Lake Mary.
Freshman Anne Burel shot a 71 in the second round to finish the tournament with a 152. Burel finished fourth overall in the tournament.
Teammate Mila Tang shot a 77 for the second straight round and finished with a 154 while Jenna Barnett shot an 80 and Brittany Odic had an 81. Tang placed tied for seventh overall while Barnett and Odic finished tied for 10th overall. Cayden Challacombe shot an 85.
"We made up ground today on both Palm Beach Atlantic and Seminole State today. Awesome round by Anne Burel and a good start for the team," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said.
Eastern Florida State College will compete in the Mustang Invitational in Scottsboro, Alabama on Sept. 16-17.
