The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team cruised to their third straight win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Daytona State College in a Citrus Conference matchup.
The 24th-ranked Titans got off to a fast 16-4 start and went on to post the 85-38 victory, improving to 8-2 in the conference and 16-5 overall.
Every player scored in the win for the Titans as they led 16-8 after the first quarter and scored 20 points in the second quarter to head to the locker room with a 36-17 lead. Nia Santiago had six of her eight points in the second quarter.
The Viera Elementary cheerleaders performed at halftime to the largest crowd of the season for the Titans.
After the halftime show, Eastern Florida State College came out shooting as Claudia Jimenez and Marta Vieira each hit 3-pointers in the first couple of minutes of the third quarter. From there Jalei O'Neal scored six straight and had eight of her 10 points in the quarter.
Karen Nimo put on a show as the Titans scored 31 points in the fourth quarter. Nimo scored 10 points in the fourth quarter and finished with a team-high 12 points.
Eastern Florida State College won their 39th straight game at Titan Field House and will be back at home Wednesday night against Miami Dade College. The game tips off at 5:30 p.m. and will be shown live on WEFS-TV, channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse. It will also be Alumni Game Day featuring halftime games and other giveaways. Admission to games at Titan Field House is free.
