
Men's golf team places tied for third at Jefferson State event
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finish tied for third at the Jefferson State Invitational Tuesday morning in Jasper, Alabama.
The Titans shot a 297 in the final round to finish with a 576 over the two days at Musgrove Country Club. Host Jefferson State Community College also finished third.
Horace Pennix tied for 10th overall after shooting 5-over 76 on Tuesday. Teammate Jamie Chepenik shot a one-over par 72 while Micke Laurelli shot a 73. Hugo Griesheimer also shot a 76 while Masen McKain finished with a 77.
"Good comeback by Jamie. Micke and Hugo hung in there well, we just need to improve at the basics," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said.
Adam Ward shot an 82 as an individual.
Central Alabama won the tournament, shooting even par 284 in the final round. Southern Union finished second, one stroke ahead of the Titans.
It was the final fall event for the men's golf team who will now prepare for the spring season.
