
Women's golf team in sixth at Space Coast Collegiate Championships
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is in sixth place after two rounds at the Space Coast Collegiate Championships at Duran Golf Club in Viera.
The Titans, who are one of two junior colleges in the field, shot a 611 in the first two rounds and head into the final round just two strokes away from the top five.
Nova Southeastern is leading the event after shooting 2-over 578 over the first two rounds. The University of Tampa is in second place at 9-over.
Eastern Florida State College's Mila Tang is tied for seventh overall after shooting a 70 in the morning round and then a 77 in the second round. Tang is 3-over for the tournament. Teammate Jenna Barnett is tied for 12th with rounds of 77 and 73. The sophomore is at 6-over heading into the final round.
Ann Burel is at 9-over and is tied for 27th while Brittany Odic is tied for 49th after rounds of 78 and 83 and Emma Parker shot a 79 in the first round and an 87 in the afternoon.
Nova Southeastern's Haruka Muta leads the tournament after rounds of 73 and 70 and is 1-under heading into Tuesday's final round. Teammate Maria Torres Lobato is tied for second at even par with Tampa's Kelly Shanahan.
The 12 teams will tee off for the final round Tuesday morning at Duran Golf Club.
