Men's golf team tied for fifth at Chuck Kalanick Memorial
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is tied for fifth after the first round of the Chuck Kalanick Memorial in Alabama.
The Titans shot 300 as a team at the Cherokee Ridge Country Club in Union Grove, Alabama. Sophomore Masen McKain shot even par 72 and is tied for sixth overall.
Horace Pennix finished with a 75 in the first round while Micke Laurelli had a 76 and Jamie Chepenik shot a 77. Hugo Griesheimer finished with an 80.
"It was a struggle all round. We had signs of scoring but did not take advantage when we had the opportunities," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said.
Central Alabama Community College is leading the event after the first round at 5-under 283. Southern Union is in second while Enterprise State and Jefferson State are tied for third.
The team will tee off in the second round on Monday.
