EFSC's Emmanuel, Raffucci named Orlando Health Athletes of the Week

A pair of Eastern Florida State College student-athletes had big opening weekends and are the Orlando Health Athletes of the Week for the week ending August 25.

Men's soccer player Mukisa Emmanuel and women's volleyball player Lesmary Raffucci each led their teams to successful weekends.

Emmanuel helped the men's soccer team go 2-0, scoring three goals and had two assists in the wins. The sophomore forward had a goal and an assist against Blinn College and then had two goals and an assist in the win over No. 17 Coastal Bend.

Raffucci finished with 41 kills and 46 digs in four matches at the FSW Battle at the Beach Tournament as the Titans went 2-2.

The freshman outside hitter recorded 16 kills and 24 digs in her first collegiate volleyball match, a win over No. 5 Trinity Valley.

Raffucci was named to the all-tournament team and is ranked in the top five in the state in both kills and digs.

The women's volleyball team has a busy week ahead as they will travel to St. Petersburg College on Tuesday and then fly to Wyoming for a tournament this weekend.
