
Volleyball, soccer teams hit the road this week
After a successful opening weekend, the Eastern Florida State College fall sports teams will all hit the road for regular-season games this week.
The 19th-ranked women's volleyball team went 2-2 at the FSW Battle at the Beach Tournament, defeating the No. 4 and No. 5 nationally ranked teams. They will head to St. Petersburg College on Tuesday for a non-conference match beginning at 6 p.m. St. Petersburg College is 1-0 this season, defeating Polk State College in straight sets.
The Titans will then travel to Cheyenne, Wyoming for the Laramie County Community College Triangular beginning Friday. Eastern Florida State College will play three more ranked teams this weekend at Laramie County Community College. The Titans will face No. 12 New Mexico Military Institute, No. 16 Casper College and No. 18 Colby Community College as well as Trinidad State on Friday and Saturday.
The second-ranked women's soccer team will travel to Tennessee to open the regular season against Motlow State Community College on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Bucks are 2-0 on the season, outscoring opponents 7-2 in the two wins.
The ninth-ranked men's soccer team is off to a 2-0 start after defeating Blinn College and No. 17 Coastal Bend on the opening weekend. The men will travel to Alabama to play Enterprise State Community College at 1 p.m. on Friday. Enterprise State is 0-1-1 this season.
