Soccer teams play for spot in national tournament semifinals today
Both Eastern Florida State College soccer teams will play today for spots in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament Semifinals at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas.
The men's soccer team will play at 1:30 p.m. EST against Tyler Junior College. The Titans lost a tight game with Murray State in the first game of pool play and Tyler Junior College defeated Murray State 4-2 on Monday, keeping the Titans alive. The men need to beat Tyler Junior College by at least two goals in order to advance to the semifinals.
It will be the first meeting between the men's team and Tyler.
The women's soccer team will also play Tyler Junior College for a spot in the semifinals at 6:30 p.m. EST. The women's team defeated Barton Community College 1-0 in the first game of pool play and Tyler Junior College beat Barton in penalty kicks after 110 minutes of scoreless soccer on Monday night. The winner of the game will advance to the national tournament semifinals.
The Titans played Tyer Junior College earlier this season with the Apaches winning, 2-1.
Both games will be played on the stadium field Tuesday and will be shown live online for $12 at the NJCAA Network. The semifinals and finals will be shown live on ESPN+.
