The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team saw its four-game unbeaten streak end Sunday in Rochester, NY.
The sixth-ranked Titans lost to No. 8 Monroe Community College 2-1 and is now 6-2-1 on the season heading into a Region 8 matchup with Daytona State College next week.
The game was scoreless through the first 64 minutes with Monroe Community College opening the scoring with a goal by Breanna DeHond. They would make it 2-0 just six minutes later.
The Titans had a couple of good looks and with 4:24 remaining, Nancy Almanza made a break through the middle and slotted a shot past MCC goalkeeper Clare Boesel.
It looked like the Titans would have a chance to tie things with under a minute left, but Monroe Community College hung on for the win. The Tribunes are now 7-2 on the season.
Eastern Florida State College will host Daytona State College on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium. Admission is free to games at Orlando Health Stadium and it will be broadcast live on WEFS-TV.
