Women's golf team opens with solid round

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team opened the fall season with a solid first round at the Seminole State Warm-Up at Mayfair Country Club in Sanford.

The Titans shot a 327 in the first round of the tournament. Seminole State shot a 300 and is leading the tournament.

Sophomore Gracie Doke and freshman Brittany Odic each shot an 80 in the first round while Jenna Barnett shot an 83 and Emma Parker had an 84. Jaida Furlow had a 92 in her first collegiate round.

"First tournament of the season and some expected nerves," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. Steady rounds by Gracie and Brittany, just need to keep playing and learning."

The final round will be Sunday at Mayfair Country Club.
