Women's basketball team improves to 3-0 in conference with road win
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team improved to 3-0 in the conference with a road win at Hillsborough Community College on Wednesday evening.
The No. 22-ranked Titans used a couple of big runs to beat the Hawks 95-58, winning for the sixth straight game.
Up 22-18 in the second quarter, Eastern Florida State College would finish the quarter on a 15-0 run as Esra Sen, Lynn Rieth and Mackenzie Auton hit back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers. The Titans would start the third quarter with the first two baskets before Hillsborough CC broke the run.
The lead would reach 25 but Hillsborough cut it to 22 after three quarters.
The fourth quarter saw the Titans go on another run, turning a 20-point lead into an 83-46 lead with 4:39 remaining.
Amelia Hassett had another big night for the Titans, scoring a team-high 23 points and grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds. It was the eighth double-double of the season for the sophomore.
Teammate Kristiana Kulackovska scored 12 points while Lynn Reith added 11 in the win.
Eastern Florida State College (7-3, 3-0) will be back at Titan Field House on Saturday afternoon, hosting Miami Dade College in a Citrus Conference game at 2 p.m. Admission is free to the contest and fans can watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
