Men's golf team in third heading into final round of Southeast District Championship
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is in third place heading into the final round of the NJCAA Division I Southeast District Championship in Union Grove, Alabama on Monday.
The Titans shot a 308 in the second round of the tournament at the Cherokee Hills Country Club and are in third place. Central Alabama shot a 303 and continues to lead the tournament while Jefferson State moved into second place after a round of 300.
Adam Vermut and Bryan Hernandez are both tied for fourth place overall in the tournament after Vermut shot a 75 and Hernandez had a 76. Hugo Griesheimer shot a 78 in the second round and is tied for 13th. Teammate Nick Miller had a 79 in the second round and is tied for 35th overall while Masen McKain had an 81.
"We just struggled all day, Adam and Bryan held it together but it was tough all around," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said.
The final round of the tournament will begin on Tuesday morning with the top teams qualifying for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.
