Women's basketball team defeats St. Petersburg
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team remained unbeaten in the Citrus Conference Wednesday evening.
The No. 21 ranked Titans defeated St. Petersburg College 81-42 to improve to 6-0 in the conference and 11-3 overall. It was the 10th straight win for Eastern Florida State College who has now won 30 straight conference games.
The Titans got out to a fast start and never looked back, scoring the first six points and then finished the first quarter on a 15-0 run.
The Titans would remain up 18 at the break, leading 36-18 and would extend the lead in the third and fourth quarters.
Sophomore Amelia Hassett recorded her 10th straight double-double and her 12th of the season with a team-high 20 points and 12 rebounds. Hassett has scored 20 or more points in seven games this season.
Jaidyn Koerdt, Kristiana Kulackovska, Esra Sen and Andrea Chiquemba each had 10 points in the contest as 11 players scored in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Santa Fe on Saturday afternoon for a Citrus Conference contest.
