The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team lost to Daytona State College 1-0 in the final Region 8 Conference game on the road Friday night.
The Titans won the regular season title by goal differential after splitting with Falcons in the regular season and will get a bye in the Region 8 Conference Tournament that begins Thursday night at Orlando Health Stadium.
On Friday night, the Titans and the Falcons played a scoreless first half as each side had chances, but nobody could get on the board.
A penalty just inside the box with 28 minutes and one second left in the contest, giving Daytona State College a penalty kick. Arianna Kinsley scored on the kick and it was 1-0.
The Titans tried to get the equalizer and had a couple of really good looks, one coming on a Mia Lewis corner kick with 14 minutes remaining.
Eastern Florida State College will head to the postseason 8-3-1 and the No. 1 seed in the Region 8 Tournament. Daytona State College is now 13-1 and will play Polk State College in the Region 8 Semifinals at 6 p.m. Thursday at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus. The Titans will play the winner of that game on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
