EFSC will host the NJCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championships this spring
Eastern Florida State College will host the 2024 NJCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championships May 19 to 24 at Duran Golf Club in Viera.
It will be the first time that Eastern Florida State College will host the women's golf national tournament.
"We are excited to host the NJCAA DI Women's Golf Championship at Duran this spring," said Jeff Carr, Associate Vice President of Athletics at Eastern Florida State. "It is a testament to Jamie Howell and his staff for the great National Championships that we have hosted in the past here in Brevard County. The vision of our President Dr. Jim Richey and Vice President Jack Parker to host National Championship events which gives back to our community with significant economic impact and having the opportunity to watch some of the top women's golfers in the country is very exciting!"
Duran Golf Club has hosted the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championships twice in the past decade, the last one in 2019. This year's tournament will feature the top 15 teams in the nation who will vie for a national title.
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team has made it to the national tournament the past two seasons and has finished in the top eight in each of them. Last season the team placed eighth in the national tournament that was held at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Finney County, Kansas.
"The NJCAA is excited to bring the DI Women's Golf Championship to Melbourne," stated Brian Luckett, NJCAA Senior Vice President for External Affairs & Development. "Eastern Florida State has previously hosted multiple championships for our organization, and we look forward to seeing how they develop this one."
