EFSC's Tsuzuki, Kamke named Orlando Health Student-Athletes of Week
Eastern Florida State College's Kodai Tsuzuki and Sofia Kamke had big weeks for their team and are the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Aug. 27.
Tsuzuki recorded two shutouts as the Titans defeated No. 15 Eastern Oklahoma State 1-0 and then Coastal Bend 2-0 last weekend in Texas.
The sophomore from Takahama, Japan had seven total saves in the two games.
He was also named the NJCAA Division I Goalkeeper of the Week.
Kamke had a big weekend at the AWC Invitational and finished with 55 kills in 19 sets during the six matches during the week.
The sophomore outside hitter from Santa Catarina, Brazil had 15 kills against Arizona Western, 13 against No. 5 Salt Lake Community College and 11 against No. 13 Eastern Arizona as the Titans went 6-0 last week.
She also recorded 16 aces in the six matches this week.
The men's soccer team will play Fort Lauderdale University on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.
The women's volleyball team will open the Citrus Conference season Wednesday at home against Polk State College at 6 p.m. at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
