
Women's basketball team heads to Miami for conference game
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will meet Miami Dade College in a key Citrus Conference matchup Saturday on the road.
The 20th ranked Titans are in second place in the conference standings with Miami Dade right behind them in third. Eastern Florida State College has won the first two meetings and has won three straight coming into the matchup in Miami. The Sharks have won four straight and are 10-4 in the conference.
Saturday's game will tip off at 2 p.m.
Sophomore Ashleigh Battle is averaging 15 points in two games against Miami Dade College this season and has scored at least 12 points in five of the past six games. For the season the point guard is averaging 7.7 points.
E'Zaria Adams has also been playing some of her best basketball down the stretch for the Titans, scoring at least 10 points in five of the past six games and is averaging 11.3 points per game this season for the Titans.
Miami Dade's Cleira Peterson has had six straight double-doubles for the Sharks and is averaging 16.25 points and 13.75 rebounds during the four-game win streak. Peterson is averaging 18.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per game this season.
Teammate Shameir Quimby is averaging 20 points per game this season but just 13 in the two games vs. the Titans.
Saturday's game in Miami will tip off at 2 p.m.
