
Women's volleyball team on road Saturday for conference match
The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team will be back in action Saturday afternoon for a Citrus Conference match on the road.
The 19th-ranked Titans will travel to Fort Myers to play No. 1 Florida Southwestern at Suncoast Credit Union Arena beginning at 2 p.m.
Eastern Florida State College comes into the match 9-5 overall and 0-1 in the conference after falling to No. 2 Miami Dade College in four sets. Sophomore Dominae Jordan had 15 kills in the match and is the FCSAA leader in digs per set with 3.89. Her 136 kills are second in the state. Teammate Lesmary Raffucci is averaging 3.71 kills per set which is No. 2 in the state and has recorded 130 kills this season. Sarah Henault is second in digs per set with 4.71 and has recorded 165 digs.
Florida Southwestern is the defending national champions and are 9-0 and 1-0 in the conference this season. The Bucs defeated No. 16 Hillsborough Community College in the conference opener in straight sets. Julija Grubisic Cabo is averaging 3.38 kills per set this season which is fifth in the state. Teammate Abby Toeniskoetter is second in the state in hitting percentage with a .496 and also second in blocks per set at 1.30.
