
Softball team ranked 22nd in national poll
The Eastern Florida State College softball team is ranked 22nd in the latest NJCAA Division I National Poll released on Monday.
The Titans, who are 24-14 on the season, have now been nationally ranked for the sixth straight week.
Florida Southwestern remains No. 1 in the national poll with Northwest Florida State College ranked second and Indian River State College is third in the poll.
The Titans lost to both Florida Southwestern and Indian River last week and will travel to Miami Dade College on Tuesday for a Citrus Conference doubleheader. Miami Dade is up to No. 7 in the nation at 24-8.
Seminole State College is No. 8 in the poll and Daytona State College moves up to No. 10, giving the state of Florida six teams ranked in the top 10 nationally.
Santa Fe College comes in at No. 19 and will be at Titan Softball Complex Thursday afternoon for a conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
Chipola College is No. 23 in the poll giving the state nine teams ranked this week.
