
Softball team hits road to begin busy week of games
The Eastern Florida State College softball team begins a busy week Tuesday when they travel to Santa Fe College for a doubleheader on the road.
The Titans are coming off a split with No. 13-ranked College of Central Florida, have won three of the past four games and are now 6-8 on the season. Starting pitcher Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor has been good for the Titans, tossing complete game shutouts in each of her past two outings. Teammate Kayla Domon stole seven bases and hit .538 last week.
Santa Fe is 14-8 and are ranked eighth in the latest state poll. They are led by infielder Story Giebeig who leads Region VIII in home runs with eight and has driven in 28 runs while scoring 22 this season.
It is the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
The Titans will host Seminole State College Wednesday evening at Titan Softball Complex for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. Seminole State is 13-10 overall this season and is 7-2 in the past nine games.
Then on Friday the Titans will travel to Seminole State College for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
