Women's soccer team home Friday night for conference game
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will host Miami Dade College in a conference game Friday night at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.
The Titans, who are ranked 17th in the nation and are 3-1 in the conference, will play the 13th ranked Sharks at 6 p.m. Friday in a battle of nationally-ranked teams.
Eastern Florida State College comes into the matchup winning the past two games including a 4-2 win over Polk State on Monday night. Lilli Baidoe leads the Titans with 10 goals and five assists this season while teammate Tiggi Gent has eight goals and seven assists.
Miami Dade College is 9-3 overall and come in on a two-game win streak but have not played in two weeks due to the storms. The Sharks shut out both Southwestern Illinois College and Monroe Community College leading up to Friday's matchup. Julia Gurgel leads the Sharks with 10 goals this season and had two goals in the first meeting between the two teams this season.
The Titans need a win to stay tied with Daytona State College for the top spot in the conference. Eastern Florida State College will host Daytona State College Monday night at 7 p.m. in the final regular season game.
