
Women's soccer team travels to Miami Dade for conference game
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will travel to Miami for a conference game against Miami Dade College Friday evening.
The No. 9 ranked Titans will play the Sharks for the first time at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Eastern Florida State College, who is 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference, have opened the conference season with two straight wins including a 2-0 shutout against Daytona State College last Friday.
Goalkeeper Jessica Reis was named the NJCAA Division I Goalkeeper of the Week on Wednesday. The freshman from Burghausen, Germany allowed just one goal and had 10 saves in the two conference matches last week. Teammate Tiggi Gent scored three times last week and now has four goals in the six matches this season. Lili Baidoe leads the Titans with six goals.
Miami Dade College is 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference and are coming off a 3-0 victory against St. Thomas University JV. Julia Gurgel leads the Sharks with six goals while teammate Tessa Abreu has scored five goals and has two assists this season.
The women's soccer team will host Monroe Community College and Southwestern Illinois next weekend with a full night of games on Thursday and Saturday at Orlando Health Stadium.
