Former EFSC soccer player Bunny Shaw named Concacaf Player of Year

Former Eastern Florida State College women's soccer player Khadija "Bunny" Shaw has been named the Concacaf Women's Soccer Player of the Year.

Shaw, who plays for Manchester City in the English Premier League, has scored 29 goals in 27 appearances this season, setting the record for most goals in a single season.

Bunny's standout performances also saw her win the Barclays Women's Super League Player of the Month award for October, as well as the PFA Fans' Player of the Month gong for January.

The 26-year-old helped Manchester City with the Continental Cup and was part of the Jamaica women's national team that qualified for the Women's World Cup for the second time in the country's history.

The former Titan was the runner-up for the award in 2018 when United States striker Alex Morgan won the award which celebrates the best player in the North American region.

In two seasons at Eastern Florida State College, Shaw scored 24 goals and had 11 assists in 21 career games. She helped the Titans to the postseason in both seasons with the team reaching the championship game of the national tournament in 2016. She was named a first team NJCAA All-American in 2016 and was named the Guardian Footballer of the Year in 2019.
