EFSC women's soccer team hosts Daytona State in Region 8 final

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will play for the Region 8 title Saturday night at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans will face Daytona State College, who defeated Polk State College 2-1 in double overtime on Thursday night, at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the South Atlantic District final.

The third-ranked Titans have beaten the Falcons in both meetings this season, winning 3-2 at Daytona State and then 2-1 at Orlando Health Stadium.

Sophomore Paula Garrido has scored three of her four goals this season against Daytona State College. Daytona State College's Elena Diaz Trujillo has also scored in both of the meetings and has 12 goals this season for the Falcons.

The two teams are no stranger to meeting in the Region 8 title match as the last three have now been Daytona vs. EFSC. The Titans have won 10 straight Region 8 Tournament titles.

The game will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday and admission is free to Orlando Health Stadium. You will also be able to watch the match live online at EFSC Titans YouTube page.
