The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team improved to 2-0 with an 8-0 win over Columbia State Community College Saturday night on the road.
The Titans, who are No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, had eight different players score in the game which was delayed because of lightning in Tennessee.
Julieta Limardo opened the scoring with her first college goal on an assist from Aida Illas and also had two assists while Viena Massale Comellas had a goal and three assists Saturday night for the Titans. Freshman Ella Newman and sophomore Morgan Miller also scored in the first half.
Paula Garrido scored to give the Titans a 5-0 lead in the first half, her second goal of the season.
Francesca Espinoza and Illas both scored in the second half while Josephine Monteiro scored for the second straight game to round out the scoring.
Kiera Gibson and Marcelle Thedinga combined on the shutout. The Titans have not allowed a goal in the first two games of the season.
The Titans will open the Region 8 Conference schedule next Saturday, traveling to Broward College for a 6 p.m. contest. Eastern Florida State College will be back at Titan Soccer Complex on Sept. 15 against Daytona State College.
