Men's golf team places eighth at McDonough Cup

Men's golf team places eighth at McDonough Cup

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team shot a 294 Tuesday morning to finish in eighth place at the McDonough Cup at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando.

The Titans finished the three-round event at 894 and two strokes behind Palm Beach Atlantic and Mount Olive.

Freshman Drew Lanier shot a 71 in the final round to finish tied for 22nd overall at 7-over for the tournament. Teammate Tom Matthews shot 74 for the second straight round to finish tied for 25th. Ryan McMillan finished tied for 39th while Josh Yang and Ben Ramos tied for 44th.

Pontus Togner shot a 74 in the final round to move up to a tie for 51st.

Sean McGinty finished tied for 25th as an individual.

The Titans will wrap up the fall season Nov. 4-5 in Mississippi at the Central Alabama Fall Intercollegiate event.
