Men's golf team places eighth at McDonough Cup

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team shot a 294 Tuesday morning to finish in eighth place at the McDonough Cup at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando.

The Titans finished the three-round event at 894 and two strokes behind Palm Beach Atlantic and Mount Olive.

Freshman Drew Lanier shot a 71 in the final round to finish tied for 22^nd overall at 7-over for the tournament. Teammate Tom Matthews shot 74 for the second straight round to finish tied for 25^th. Ryan McMillan finished tied for 39^th while Josh Yang and Ben Ramos tied for 44^th.

Pontus Togner shot a 74 in the final round to move up to a tie for 51^st.

Sean McGinty finished tied for 25^th as an individual.

The Titans will wrap up the fall season Nov. 4-5 in Mississippi at the Central Alabama Fall Intercollegiate event.
