Baseball team back home for conference doubleheader Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will be home for a Citrus Conference doubleheader Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans will host the State College of Florida, Manatee in a battle of teams looking to get into the postseason. SCF-Manatee won the series opener with a late home run 6-5.
SCF-Manatee, who is now 14-14 in the conference, have won two straight and are hitting .300 this season as a team. Jalen Hairston comes into the doubleheader hitting .379 with five home runs and 11 doubles.
With five games left in the regular season, the Titans need a strong finish to get into the postseason. Freshman Kenneth Robinson is 6-3 with a 2.24 ERA this season and will get a start on Saturday. Robinson's 2.24 ERA is second-best in Region 8. Teammate Hector Mangual continues to play well for the Titans and leads the team, hitting .350 this season.
Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. and admission is free to games at Bruce Bochy Field. The games will also be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
