Baseball team travels to Florida Southwestern Thursday
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team opens a Citrus Conference series against Florida Southwestern State College on the road Thursday.
The Titans, who enter the week 6-9 in the conference, will play a three-game series with Florida Southwestern beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday. Florida Southwestern comes in tied for first place in the conference with a 11-4 conference record.
Florida Southwestern is second in Region VIII in batting average (.326) and home runs (45) this season and are leading the state in stolen bases with 69. Victor Figuera is leading the team with a .447 batting average and has hit a team-tying 11 home runs with 43 RBI this season.
Eastern Florida State College is hitting .299 as a team this season and is led by shortstop Hector Mangual who comes in hitting .375 this season while Adrian Dominguez is hitting .343 with 13 doubles.
Thursday's game in Fort Myers will be shown live online here. The second and third games of the series will be this weekend at Bruce Bochy Field.
