Baseball team hosts Seminole State in conference game Thursday
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will open a Citrus Conference series against Seminole State College on Thursday afternoon.
The Titans, who are on a three-game win streak, will play three games with Seminole State College this week and will open at home Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field. The final two games will be played Saturday at Seminole State College.
Eastern Florida State College is 10-9-1 overall and 2-4 in the conference and has seven players hitting over .300 led by Adrian Dominguez who has a five-game hitting streak and hit a home run in two of the past four games. Laheim Bell has four hits in the past three games as the Titans are hitting .296 as a team.
The Titans are sixth in the state in ERA this season with a 4.44. Thursday's starting pitcher Zaylen Perry will be making his first start with the Titans this season.
Seminole State College comes into the contest 13-6 overall and 3-3 in the conference and is coming off a win on Tuesday. The Raiders are led by the duo of Jacob Green and Nic Pepe who are both hitting over .400 this season. Green is hitting .433 in 19 starts and has a couple of doubles and a triple. Pepe is hitting .408 with four doubles this season.
