Baseball team falls in game at Clover Park
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost the first game of a three-game series with Indian River Friday evening at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie.
The Titans lost 4-1 in the game played at the New York Mets spring training facility.
Starting pitcher KC Swords was solid, tossing six innings and Trey Jackson pitched the final three for the Titans.
Down 4-0, the Titans tried to get back into the game in the final two innings, scoring once in the eighth but couldn't come up with the big hit.
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Bruce Bochy Field. The first game will begin at noon and will be a nine-inning game with the second game to be a seven-inning game. Dylan Dieguez will get the start in Game 1 of the doubleheader.
Eastern Florida State College is now 17-21-1 overall and 2-8 in the Southern Conference.
