Baseball team picks up a road win on Monday
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team defeated Warned University JV 5-1 Monday afternoon on the road.
The Titans improved to 17-20-1 on the season with the win. Eastern Florida State College used errors to score in both the first and second innings as Don McKnight III reached on an error, stole second base and would give the Titans a 1-0 lead. In the second inning it was Zachary Taylor who reached on an error and would come around to score.
Up 2-0 in the sixth inning the Titans would add two more runs as Dalton Robinson singled, stole both second and third and would score the third run. Taylor would score for the second time in the sixth.
Robinson would double, steal third and score in the eighth inning to make it 5-1.
Nick Feretic tossed four scoreless innings, striking out four and allowing two hits. Daemon Woodruff, Brian Walters and Eric Garcia all tossed scoreless innings for the Titans.
Eastern Florida State College will open a three-game series against Indian River State College on Wednesday. The Titans will host Game 1 at 5 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field.
