Baseball team hosts South Florida State College Friday in Southern Conference game
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Friday for a Southern Conference game against South Florida State College.
The Titans lost Game 1 of the series at South Florida State College on Wednesday night and will begin Game 2 Friday at 5 p.m.
In Game 1, Drew Stubbs hit his seventh home run of the season in the second inning of the 7-1 loss.
Sophomore KC Swords will get the start for the Titans on Friday. The left-hander is 4-2 this season with a 5.56 ERA in seven appearances this season.
Offensively the Titans are led by Don McKnight III and Drew Cavanaugh, who was named the Orlando Health Student-Athlete of the week last week.
McKnight has started every game this season for the Titans and is hitting .357 with a team-high three triples and 13 stolen bases. Teammate Dalton Robinson has a team-high 16 stolen bases and is third in the state. McKnight is fifth with the 13.
Cavanaugh is hitting .313 this season with four home runs and has driven in a team-high 19 runs.
South Florida State College is 24-12 this season.
