Baseball team falls short on the road
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team fell short on the road Wednesday evening, losing to the State College of Florida-Manatee 4-3.
The Titans got on the board in the second inning as Zachary Taylor singled, then Jesus Santana singled in his first at-bat for the Titans. With two on and one out, Dalton Robinson ripped a single to score Taylor with the first run.
SCF-Manatee would take the lead in the third inning when Kevin Karstetter hit a two-run home run. With SCF-Manatee up 4-1, the Titans came back as Jason Blackstone hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to make it 4-2. Then with the bases loaded, Drew Stubbs hit a sacrifice fly to make it 4-3. But that is as close as the Titans would get.
Blackstone and Taylor each finished the game 2-for-4.
Eastern Florida State College (7-6-1) will travel to Seminole State College on Friday for a 1 p.m. game in Sanford. The Titans will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Saturday for a doubleheader with TNXL beginning at 1 p.m. and admission is free.
