Dalton Robinson comes up big in baseball team's win
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team rallied late to defeat Palm Beach State College Wednesday night at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans trailed most of the game but in the eighth inning Drew Cavanaugh led off the inning with a walk, then Zachary Taylor was hit by a pitch. With two outs, a two-base error scored Cavanaugh to cut the lead to 5-4. Then Dalton Robinson crushed a ball to centerfield that got by a diving centerfielder and Robinson took off.
The first baseman would leap over the catcher and land on home plate to give the Titans a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Eric Garcia pitched the ninth inning to lock down the win for the Titans who improved to 6-4-1 on the season and have won three in a row and six of the past seven.
Robinson hit a double and home run in the game, scoring twice and driving in two runs.
Dylan Dieguez pitched five effective innings with Trey Jackson, Ridge Skarbek holding Palm Beach State College in check and allowing the Titans offense to get the lead.
Eastern Florida State College will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Friday afternoon against Seminole State College. The game will begin at 1 p.m. and will be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
