Baseball team set for three-game series with Indian River this weekend
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team heads into a Southern Conference series with Indian River State College tied for first place after a good opening week.
The three-game series begins Thursday afternoon with a 2 p.m. scheduled start at Indian River State College. The series will then come to Bruce Bochy Field for Game 2 Friday at 6 p.m. and the final game of the series will be Saturday at 1 p.m. back at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans, who are 2-1 in the conference and 9-9 overall, will hand the ball to Jackson Woodward Thursday afternoon. Woodward is 2-0 this season with 31 strikeouts in 24.2 innings and has yet to allow an earned run in six appearances.
Indian River State College is 1-2 in the conference after losing the series to Broward College last week. The Pioneers are led by Troy Hamilton who is hitting .404 with two home runs this season.
Bruce Bochy Field is on the Melbourne campus of Eastern Florida State College and admission is free.
