The Eastern Florida State College baseball team defeated Daytona State College 4-3 on the road Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman Jackson Woodward pitched six scoreless innings, striking out eight to pick up his second win of the season. Zack Kornick got out of a jam in the ninth inning with a strikeout and groundout with runners on second and third to record his third save.
Abraham Arroyo had two big hits and drove in two runs while Jeff Richardson and Lake Fisher had doubles.
The baseball team (6-6) will host Lake Sumter State College on Friday at Bruce Bochy Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and admission is free.
