The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost its regular-season opener 6-2 at Bruce Bochy Field Friday afternoon.
The Titans opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when leadoff hitter Kevin Silva scored on Cristian Sanjurjo's double. Sanjurjo would later score on Collier Rutledge's single to make it 2-0.
The score would stay that way through three innings as Titans starter Tyler Keysor worked out of jams in both the second and third innings. But South Florida State College would break through in the fourth inning, tying the game 2-2. South Florida State College would score again in the fifth inning to take a 3-2 lead and three more times in the sixth inning.
Titans reliever Raynieri De La Santos Disla came into the game in the seventh inning and struck out the side. He finished with three innings of work, allowing one hit and striking out four.
Offensively, Sanjurjo had two hits and was on base three times. The Titans will travel to Polk State College on Saturday for a 1 p.m. first pitch. Eastern Florida State College will be back at Bruce Bochy Field on Wednesday night, hosting Seminole State College at 6 p.m.
