Eastern Florida Beats Palm Beach 6-2 to Move to 4-0
Eastern Florida's baseball team won its Southern Conference opener on Tuesday defeating defending champion Palm Beach State 6-2 at Bruce Bochy Field.
Eastern Florida improved to 4-0 overall. Palm Beach fell to 0-1 and 1-3.
Righty Blair Calvo got the win, striking out five batters over seven innings. Righty Tim Luth recorded two strikeouts in one inning.
A.J. Puigcerver went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in. Norbert Navarro went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Manny Rodriguez 3-for-4 with two stolen bases.
Next up for baseball are a 5 p.m. Wednesday game at Polk State College; a 1 p.m. Saturday game at conference foe Miami Dade College; a 2 p.m. Sunday home game with conference foe Broward College and a 4 p.m. Monday home game with non-conference foe Daytona State College.
