Women's cross country team set for FSC Invite

The Eastern Florida State College women's cross country team will compete in the FSC Invite at Florida Southern in Lakeland on Friday morning.

The Titans will be one of 18 teams that will be competing at Holloway Park with the women's race scheduled to run an 6K at 5 p.m.

"It is hard to run at night, you will never run as fast at night because you have been up all day and doing things, but that is the same for everyone," Eastern Florida State College women's cross country coach Doug Butler said.

The women's team has been getting better with each race this season and their sophomore leader Rachelle Starr is working her way back into shape after an injury.

"I am really happy with the girls, I think we have a good shot at a good result, Rachel is getting healthy and the objective is to have her back to 100 percent for the postseason," Butler said.
