Women's golf team places sixth in fall invitational
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Nancy Nichols Fall Invitational at the Sun 'N Lakes Golf Club in Sebring Tuesday.
The Titans shot a 324 in the final round of the tournament. Sophomore Delia Timpy led the Titans, finishing tied for 13th overall with a 77 in the final round. Teammate Kira Shellman had a 79 to place tied for 19th overall while Gabrielle Fernandez finished tied for 22nd after an 83 Tuesday. Savannah Hawthorne finished in 30th and Olivia Timpy was 31st.
"A good test for the team and steady play to finish for Delia and Kira. Nice comeback round by Olivia," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Time to rest up, regroup and prepare for Flagler tournament in two weeks."
The Titans will compete in the Flagler Fall Slam in St. Augustine Oct. 25-26.
