Women's basketball team travels to Indian River Saturday for conference game
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will travel to Indian River State College for a Citrus Conference game on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 8-ranked Titans come into the matchup 16-0 in the conference and have won 20 games in a row. Eastern Florida State College has clinched a spot in the state tournament and are closing in on their third straight conference title.
Indian River State College has won two straight and is 9-7 in the conference after defeating St. Petersburg on Thursday night. The Pioneers are led by Jordan Boddie who is averaging 16.7 points per game and has had scored in double digits in the past six games.
Sophomore Amelia Hassett is averaging 19.5 points per game for the Titans which is third in Region 8 and leads the state in rebounding, averaging 13.3 rebounds per game. Hassett also leads Region 8 in 3-point shooting, making 42.3 percent of her 3-pointers. The 13.3 rebounds per game is tied for fourth in NJCAA Division I women's basketball. Hassett was named the NJCAA Division I National Player of the Week last week.
Teammates Jaidyn Koerdt and Kristiana Kulackovska are each averaging nine points per game for the Titans.
