Women's basketball team hits road for conference game Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will travel to Indian River State College for a Citrus Conference game Saturday afternoon.
The No. 15 ranked Titans head into the matchup with the Pioneers unbeaten in conference play at 11-0 and have won 15 straight games. Indian River State College is 7-3 in conference play and have won the past two games.
In the first meeting at Titan Field House, the Titans defeated the Pioneers 66-60 as Jaidyn Koerdt and Amelia Hassett each recorded double-doubles.
Hassett has scored at least 12 points in each of the past 14 games and has recorded 16 double-doubles this season. The sophomore forward is averaging 19.3 points per game which is second in Region 8 and leads the state in rebounds per game at 13.3.
Indian River State College is led by Jordan Boddie who is averaging 16.6 points per game this season. In the first meeting, Kailyn Peters had one of her best games of the season with 17 points.
Saturday's game will begin at 2 p.m. in Indian River State College.
Saturday is the first of three straight road games for the Titans who will return to Titan Field House Feb. 10.
