Women's basketball team hosts Santa Fe in conference matchup Monday
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will be back on the court Monday in a Citrus Conference matchup at Titan Field House.
The No. 20 Titans will host Santa Fe College at 5:30 p.m. in the conference home opener. Eastern Florida State College is 1-0 in the conference after a victory Saturday against Daytona State College while Santa Fe lost its opener against Indian River State College to fall to 4-2 overall.
The Titans are led by sophomore Amelia Hassett who has recorded six double-doubles this season and is averaging 16.8 points and 14.4 rebounds per game this season. The 14.4 rebounds per game leads Region 8 and is second in the nation. Freshman Lynn Reith is coming off a season high 24-point performance in which she made eight 3-pointers.
Santa Fe comes to Titan Field House with a balanced scoring attack as six players are averaging at least 10 points per game. Shakiria Chaney leads the offense, averaging 14.4 points per game while Camryn Robinson is averaging 13.2. Leyah Houston comes into the contest averaging 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
