Women's basketball team hits road for conference game Wednesday
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will hit the road for a Central Conference game against Daytona State College Wednesday evening.
The Titans are ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Division I poll and have won five in a row. Eastern Florida State College defeated Daytona State College in the first meeting, 90-55 and have won 18 straight conference games heading into the matchup on Wednesday.
Eastern Florida State College is led by L'or Eyeba Mputu who is averaging 12.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Teammate Shadaria Smith is averaging 11.1 points per game and is hitting 38.6 percent of her 3-pointers which is second in Region 8.
Daytona State College's Nashani Gilbert is averaging 16.3 points this season but has been scoring close to 20 points in conference games this season.
Wednesday night's game will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Daytona State College. The game will be shown locally on WDSC-TV. The Titans will return to Titan Field House Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against St. Petersburg College in a game that will be broadcast on WEFS-TV.
