The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team cruised to a win in the home opener Monday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
The Titans improved to 7-0 on the season with the 86-29 victory against Hillsborough Community College.
Hillsborough Community College took a 7-6 lead early in the first quarter but the Titans went ona 16-0 run to hold a 22-7 lead after one quarter.
The lead would extend 31 points at halftime as the Titans continued to pour it on.
Eastern Florida State College had 23 steals and 18 blocked shots in the game as the defense held the Hawks to single digits in every quarter.
Sophomore Shadaria Smith finished with a team-high 19 points while teammate Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu had 10 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and five blocks in the game. Hanna Mebius-Svensson hit three 3-pointers to finish with nine points off the bench.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to St. Thomas University JV on Sunday for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
