Women's basketball team hosts Hillsborough CC on Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will be back home Saturday afternoon after six straight games on the road.
The 24th-ranked Titans will host Hillsborough Community College who comes into the matchup 6-7 but gave the Titans everything they could handle in the first matchup. Eastern Florida State College won the first matchup 78-76 in November. The Titans are 8-2 in the past 10 meetings.
Hillsborough Community College has won three of the past four games, led by Darria Whitley who is averaging 17 points per game and is hitting 43 percent of her 3-pointers. Teammate Jazmine Spencer is averaging 17.7 points off the bench and has scored at least 12 in each of the past two games.
Eastern Florida State College is 10-2 and have won three straight games heading into Saturday. The Titans are led by Rapuluchi Ngorka who is averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds per game. She has recorded seven double-doubles and her 12.4 rebounds per game leads Region 8. Teammate Shadaria Smith is coming off a career-best 23 points and is averaging 11 points per game.
